Designing your Wedding Cake

Wedding cakes require a bit more planning and collaboration to make sure every detail is just right. Here’s what the process looks like:

Schedule a Consultation

We’ll schedule a video call or meet in person at a local coffee shop to discuss your vision, wedding details, guest count, and venue.

Wedding Cake Sampler Box

You’ll receive a custom wedding sampler box to help you choose your cake flavors. The sampler box has a small fee, which will be credited toward your deposit if you book your wedding cake with Rush of Sweetness.

Finalize Details & Reserve Your Date

Once we finalize your cake design and details, you’ll receive an invoice outlining your order. A 50% deposit secures your date, with the remaining balance due one week before the wedding.

Wedding dates fill quickly, so early inquiries are recommended.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! I love experimenting with new recipes and flavor combinations. Cake flavors can be nostalgic and meaningful, and I’m always happy to work with you to create something special.

  • The sooner the better, but I prefer at least one week’s notice when possible. This allows me time to plan your design and gather any special ingredients or supplies needed for your cake.

  • Because each order is made from scratch, I’m generally unable to accept very small standalone orders such as half dozens of cupcakes or single smash cakes. However, smaller items can often be added to a larger order — for example, a smash cake alongside an 8" celebration cake. Feel free to inquire and I’ll be happy to discuss options!

  • Yes! We create custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, and all special occasions throughout the Rochester, MN area.
