Hi! I’m Alysha -so happy you’re here!

Mother, Cake Artist, Pathologists’ Assistant

It Started With Pregnancy Cravings

Established in 2025 during my third trimester with baby number three, baking began as a nesting phase and quickly became my creative outlet. Outside of being a mom, I work full-time as a Pathologists’ Assistant, a career that requires precision, patience, and a sharp eye for detail.

It didn’t take long to realize those same skills show up in cake decorating too — from smooth buttercream finishes to carefully crafted details. What began as baking for friends and family soon grew into creating custom cakes and teaching decorating classes for my community.

Turns out pathology and cake decorating both require steady hands and a sharp eye for detail

Meet the baker

Born and raised in Illinois, I made Rochester, Minnesota my home in 2018.

I work at Mayo Clinic as a Pathologists’ Assistant, but I’ve always shared a deep love for baking.

I learned to bake from my father, who made beautiful birthday cakes for all six of his children throughout childhood and even into adulthood — including our wedding cakes. From him, I learned that the smallest details — and a little precision — can make something truly special. That same feeling is what I hope to bring to every cake I create. I love collaborating with clients to design one-of-a-kind cakes for their celebrations.

My passions include family, baking beautiful sweets, and pathology — three things that inspire the heart behind every cake I create.

The heart behind every cake

At Rush of Sweetness, every cake and class is guided by a few simple values that shape how I bake, create, and connect with my community.

Precision:

Great cakes are built on the details. From smooth buttercream finishes to carefully crafted designs, I bring patience, precision, and a steady hand to every cake I create.

Creativity:

Every celebration is unique, and your cake should be too. I love collaborating with clients to design one-of-a-kind cakes that reflect your style, theme, and special moment.

Community:

Rush of Sweetness is rooted in connection. Whether through custom cakes or decorating classes, my goal is to bring people together and make celebrations even sweeter.
